About Civil Engineering Department

Mr. S. Q. Sohail
I/c, Head of Department,
Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering has been in existence since the inception of G.P. Beed in 1983 and has grown into a full fledged department with specialisations in all the major areas of Civil Engineering.

The Department has well-established Survey Lab, Hydraulics Lab, Applied Mechanics Lab, Transportation Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Construction Materials Lab. Various activities are organized to develop soft skills of the students such as Paper Presentation, Industrial Visits, and Expert Lectures, etc.

Civil engineers use the basic principles of motion, energy, and force to design and almost all products. Today’s civil engineers may work on advanced research and education in the broad areas of Geotechnical, Structural, Transportation, and Water Resources & Environmental Engineering.
